It’s been a quiet time in recent months

It’s been a quiet time in recent months for both Rhythmic Tide and non-Rhythmic Tide sides of things.

Over the last month, I’ve been working on getting things together for the new Rhythmic Tide album, Illusions of Sonic Proportions, which is a compilation of the best instrumental tracks released since 2007. With some brand new tracks into the mix. It will be officially released on April 30, 2011 exclusively through the BandCamp website. It is available for pre-order until then as a digital download. You can get it here === > http://rhythmictide.bandcamp.com/album/illusions-of-sonic-proportions.

In the last few weeks, I’ve been slowly writing new songs. Yes, that’s right new songs, not instrumentals for the first non-Rhythmic Tide album in over 5 years (not counting the “Cruel Moon EP” which was released last year. I am hoping to start recording the new John Manly album in the second half of 2012, ready for a pre-Christmas release.

In other news you can follow me on Twitter and Facebook.

The Phoenix Arises

Rhythmic Tide have been busy working on the next album to be entitled “Phoenix Rising.” Once again it is going to be a collection of instrumental tracks with a few different flavours thrown into the mix.

Phoenix Rising’s track list is currently sketchy as new tracks are being written and recorded. A few definite inclusions are “Fading Memories”, “Mesmerize Me” and “Dreaming Awake.”

Other possibilities include: “Sleepless”, “The Awakening”, “Midnight Passion” and “Injustice.”

More details and a more accurate track listing will be available later in April in the lead up to it’s released penciled in for late May 2011.

Don’t forget to grab your copy of “Fading Memories” from iTunes.

New Website is up and running

Well, Finally the new website is online. Along with an online store.

The new website is incorporating all the info on this blog, plus other stuff that isn’t here. It’s not quite finished, A bit of last minute modifications and content to be added over the next couple of days.

The main website is www.johnmanlymusic.com. The online store can be accessed via store.johnmanlymusic.com or www.johnmanlymusic.com/store/

In the new site is:

  • The Biography as seen on here.
  • John Manly and Rhythmic Tide Discography
  • A new wordpress blog (well new, but includes all the previous postings)
  • The new John Manly & Rhythmic Tide Online Store

Still to come is a photos page and maybe even a gig guide for upcoming gigs. Shhhh… That parts a secret.

On the Store side of things… There are CD’s & Gift Vouchers/Certificates. In the process of uploading the back catalog of Rhythmic Tide releases as digital downloads. John Manly downloads coming soon. Also, looking at merchandise, such as Button Badges, Photo Keyrings, Pens, Fridge Magnets and possibly T-shirts.

So, check the site out and have a look around and spread the word.

Cheers

New Website Coming Soon.

Watch out for news of an official John Manly/Rhythmic Tide website coming soon.

After what seems like an eternity of suffering from an online identity crisis, with so many social network and music related websites. I’ve decided to take the plunge and set up an official website, which will have all the info on this wordpress blog and more.

The website is currently being built and hopefully completed within the next week or two.

I’ll make another posting when it is near to going live. There no doubt will be tweaks and new features added in the first month of the site going live.

Stay tuned…

Rhythmic Tide CD’s on Ebay

Recently I posted that I was looking for a way, without an official website, with an online store, to make available Rhythmic Tide and or John Manly recordings available for those who may not have access to a credit card or wish to use one. And those without a PayPal account. Which is fair enough in my view.

Anyway, I am trying out Ebay, as a test to see if it is more suitable. This means you will be able to buy Rhythmic Tide CD’s via Ebay. I’ve set it up to give you the option of using the following… PayPal, Direct Credit to bank account or Money Order.

At the moment, there are only two Rhythmic Tide albums available. These are Sound Waves (2010) and Mind Fragments (2007). Due to it being a new Ebay account I can’t offer more than one copy of the CD’s at a time (Until I’ve got X amount of feedback points).

If this experiment is a successful one, I’ll be offering a larger quantity of the entire Rhythmic Tide back Catalogue.

To check out these two (Buy It Now) listings on Ebay check out the following links.

Rhythmic Tide’s  Sound Waves  CD (2010) and Mind Fragments CD (2007).

Note: I have these CD’s listed for 10 days, unless sold earlier.

Cheers.

Broader Horizons

I know that not everyone has access to a Credit Card or have PayPal accounts. Some may prefer other means of making purchases of music online.

And as none of my material is available on iTunes, I’m trying to work out a way, without an official website, to make it easier for people that may not have access to a credit card or PayPal to purchase both Rhythmic Tide and John Manly releases in MP3 format.

I’ll keep you posted with the options when I think of them.

Influences: Part 1

Influences are an important part of any musicians world. Some may be obvious and others less so. I thought I’d share some of my influences over the years. Some of which many people might remember, others may be long forgotten by most and labeled as “One Hit Wonders,” even though they may have continued producing music overlooked by mainstream radio in many places.

My influences are rather an eclectic assortment. Ranging from Rock, Pop, Country and other genres. I thought I’d break my list of influences into a few posts.

These are the earliest artist I remember being in awe of and giving me the bug to aspire towards being a musician.
